The arrest was made on 14 May 2025 at 8:30 p.m. inside a gas station in the Prasertmanukit Road area, Chorake Bua Subdistrict, Lat Phrao District, Bangkok. Thanaset Chotirawiamornchai was then taken into custody along with two orangutans in a plastic basket along with a bottle of milk for the baby monkeys to drink, waiting to be delivered to a customer. The arrest was made in order to cut off a wildlife smuggling operation.
